Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will lead the development of a scalable, commercially focused FP&A function capable of supporting continued growth and future public market readiness.
The business is investing in its financial planning, analytics, and decision-support capabilities to strengthen performance management, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Role Summary
This is a senior leadership opportunity with significant visibility across the executive team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the FP&A function, enhance financial planning and reporting processes, build stronger business partnering capabilities, and help prepare the finance function for the demands of a larger and more complex organisation.
The role combines strategic planning, commercial finance, team leadership, and transformation, offering the opportunity to influence key business decisions and contribute to the next phase of the company’s growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the FP&A function, establishing best-in-class forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
- Drive the annual budget cycle, quarterly reforecasting activities, and strategic planning agenda.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis and performance reporting to the CFO, executive leadership team, and key stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations that support decision-making.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and functional leaders across the business.
- Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and support initiatives that improve profitability, efficiency, and growth.
- Enhance financial modelling capabilities, including scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and performance forecasting.
- Improve reporting, automation, and analytics through the effective use of systems, data, and technology.
- Partner with data, technology, and transformation teams to improve information quality and business insight.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the existing FP&A team, building capability across modelling, reporting, analytics, and business partnering.
- Assess future resource requirements and support the evolution of the finance operating model.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and the implementation of stronger processes, controls, and reporting disciplines.
- Assist with growth-readiness activities, including preparation for potential public market requirements and investor engagement.
- Partner with auditors, advisers, and other external stakeholders as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
