NXTGEN is recruiting a Head of FP&A to join a rapidly expanding organisation within the energy sector.

This newly influential role will sit at the centre of the Group’s financial and strategic planning, providing the senior leadership team with the visibility needed to guide continued growth. You will lead an established team while developing a more commercially focused, forward-looking FP&A function.

As Head of FP&A, you will:

  • Take ownership of the Group’s annual budget and ongoing reforecasting
  • Develop integrated financial models covering profit, cash and the balance sheet
  • Evaluate business plans, investment opportunities and potential growth scenarios
  • Analyse performance against expectations and clearly explain the key drivers
  • Create concise financial reporting for executives, shareholders and the Board
  • Work with operational teams to strengthen financial ownership and improve planning
  • Oversee Group cash projections and provide early visibility of funding requirements
  • Lead, coach and set priorities for a team of finance professionals
  • Improve the accuracy and accessibility of management information
  • Identify opportunities to simplify reporting through stronger systems and automation
  • Maintain control over the integrity and consistency of financial data

About you

We’re looking for an experienced FP&A professional who can combine detailed financial analysis with senior-level commercial influence.

You will ideally have:

  • Several years of progressive FP&A experience
  • Previous responsibility for managing and developing a finance team
  • Advanced forecasting, financial modelling and sensitivity-analysis skills
  • Experience preparing information for executive, Board or investor audiences
  • A strong understanding of management accounts and financial controls
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions and influence non-finance leaders
  • The ability to turn complex data into a clear and compelling financial narrative
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified

Experience within renewable energy is not essential. Applications are also welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in infrastructure, utilities, agriculture, private equity or other investment-led and asset-intensive businesses.
