Role Purpose
The Head of Management Reporting & Systems owns the technical backbone of the FP&A function and ensures it supports commercially sound decision-making. This role is responsible for producing high-quality management reporting, administering and optimising planning and reporting systems, helping oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles, adjusting forecast models, and delivering meaningful variance analysis.
This position ensures that the broader FP&A team and business stakeholders have reliable, timely, and insightful data and reporting, freeing the Senior Director and Business Partner to focus on strategic analysis and decision support.
Management Reporting
- Own the end-to-end management reporting process, including monthly/quarterly board and management packs, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
- Build and maintain reporting across channel, regional, departmental, and group/consolidated financials.
- Ensure reporting consistency and a single source of truth across all outputs - no conflicting numbers between packs, dashboards, and ad-hoc requests.
- Manage the reporting calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders know what to expect and when.
Systems Administration
- Act as the primary system administrator for Vena - user access, security roles, workflow approvals, and issue troubleshooting.
- Build, maintain, and optimize templates, reports, and workflows within Vena to support reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Own the relationship with the Vena vendor/support team, including managing upgrades, releases, and new feature rollouts.
- Maintain system documentation (data flows, integrations, template logic) to reduce key-person dependency.
- Evaluate and implement Vena add-ons or integrations (e.g., with the GL, HR systems, or BI tools) as needs evolve.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning Support Strategy
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles from a systems and process perspective - template design, timelines, consolidation, and validation.
- Support third-party engagements by producing accurate, well-documented reporting packages and data extracts.
- Assist in the deployment of segmental reporting, including structural changes to the chart of accounts, hierarchies, or reporting dimensions in Vena/Netsuite alongside the IT team.
- Lead any future finance system implementations or major upgrades, from requirements gathering through go-live and training.
- Act as the finance-side lead on cross-functional data/systems projects (e.g., new GL implementation, BI tool rollout) that touch FP&A / Accounts reporting.
Accounts Department Support
- Provide support to the accounts team on queries, month-end processes, or system issues that intersect with reporting.
- Act as a point of escalation for accounts-related queries involving reporting outputs, data reconciliation, or system access.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency across both teams.
- Champion automation opportunities to streamline recurring processes.
Ad-Hoc
- Produce ad-hoc analysis, financial models, and reporting as required by the Senior Director or other business stakeholders.
- Partner with Business Partners to understand reporting needs by function/region and translate them into scalable system solutions rather than one-off manual builds.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, or a related finance systems role.
- Hands-on experience administering a corporate performance management (CPM) platform.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with SQL, Power BI, or other BI/data visualization tools a plus.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering management reporting packs and dashboards.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement or automation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and management accounting principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience); part- or fully-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) a plus but not required.

- The Senior Director and Business Partners spend their time on analysis and decisions, not chasing data.
- The accounts team has a reliable point of contact for reporting and system-related queries.
- Process improvement initiatives show a measurable, ongoing reduction in manual effort across the reporting cycle.
