About Our Client
Our client is a fast-growing financial infrastructure business providing banking and payment capabilities to regulated organizations. Its platform supports account and payment infrastructure, including IBANs and cross-border payment flows, across a diverse client base that includes businesses operating within crypto and digital assets.
Role: Head of Fraud Risk
As the business continues to scale, they are looking to appoint a Head of Fraud Risk to strengthen their second-line fraud risk capability. The role will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Fraud Risk framework, providing independent oversight and challenge of first-line fraud controls, and ensuring fraud risk is effectively governed across the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the second-line Fraud Risk framework, policies, and standards
- Conduct fraud risk assessments across products, customer segments, accounts, and payment flows
- Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge of first-line fraud controls and governance
- Oversee fraud risk appetite, controls, MI, and KRIs, identifying emerging risks and areas requiring remediation
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure fraud risk is appropriately considered across new products and initiatives
- Provide clear fraud risk insight and reporting to senior stakeholders and governance committees

What They're Looking For
- Deep Fraud Risk expertise, with genuine second-line oversight experience
- Strong experience across payments, account/IBAN-based products, and associated fraud risks
- Crypto/digital assets experience, with an understanding of the fraud risks and typologies associated with businesses operating in this space
- Experience developing or overseeing fraud frameworks, controls, governance, and risk assessments
- Experience gained within fintech, payments infrastructure, BaaS, or another fast-growing regulated environment
- Confidence providing independent challenge and influencing senior stakeholders

Important Notes
Please note this isn't a Fraud Operations role and it isn't a broad Financial Crime position. They're specifically looking for someone with genuine second-line Fraud Risk expertise, strong payments knowledge, and meaningful exposure to crypto/digital assets/IBAN-based products.
