Role Description
The Head of Fulfilment is a full-time, on-site role based in Hatfield, responsible for leading end-to-end fulfilment operations within a busy logistics environment. This role oversees daily warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound flows, order processing, inventory accuracy, and service-level performance to ensure consistent, high-quality customer delivery. The Head of Fulfilment manages and develops operational teams, sets clear performance targets, and implements best practices to improve efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The role works closely with supply chain, procurement, and commercial stakeholders to optimise capacity, support new contract onboarding, and align fulfilment solutions with client requirements. The Head of Fulfilment also monitors key operational metrics, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with regulatory, health and safety, and quality standards.

- Strong expertise in Supply Chain Management, including inventory control, order fulfilment, and logistics coordination.
- Proven background in Operations Management, with experience overseeing warehouse processes, resource planning, and performance optimisation.
- Knowledge of Procurement practices, vendor management, and cost control within a fulfilment or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated Team Leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and building high-performing operational teams.
- Commitment to high-quality Customer Service, with the ability to meet service-level agreements and manage client expectations.
- Experience in 3PL, e-fulfilment, or distribution centres, ideally at a senior operational level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in using data and KPIs to drive decisions and improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with clients and internal leadership teams.
- Good understanding of health and safety, compliance, and quality standards in warehousing and logistics.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or a related field is advantageous.
