Conservation Collective is a nature charity dedicated to protecting and restoring wild places across the globe. Since 2020, it has developed a network of more than 20 local foundations that drive impact at the grassroots level, empowering communities most affected by environmental challenges to lead solutions. Led by Founder Ben Goldsmith, the organization supports nature restoration initiatives from Devon to Mallorca, Sri Lanka to St Vincent. Through strategic grant-making, it has dispersed millions to grassroots groups, backing practical, locally led projects. The charity is growing rapidly and offers opportunities for professionals passionate about environmental impact and community-driven change.
Role Description
The Head of Fundraising will lead the strategy and execution of all fundraising activities to grow and diversify Conservation Collective’s income. This full-time remote role involves building and managing relationships with major donors, philanthropic partners, and charitable foundations, as well as identifying new funding opportunities across the global network. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing compelling fundraising campaigns and materials, overseeing donor stewardship and reporting, and collaborating closely with local foundations to understand their funding needs and impact stories. The role also requires setting and monitoring fundraising targets, tracking performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate donor records. The Head of Fundraising will work with senior leadership to shape long-term income plans and represent Conservation Collective at virtual and in-person events as needed.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in fundraising and philanthropy, with a strong track record of securing income for charities or non-profit organizations.
- Proven ability to engage and steward major donors, including developing tailored proposals and long-term relationship strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tell compelling impact stories and adapt messaging to different audiences and cultures.
- Solid understanding of the charity and non-profit sector, preferably with experience in environmental or conservation-related organizations.
- Strategic planning and project management skills, including setting targets, monitoring progress, and delivering results to deadlines.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with proficiency in using CRM or donor management systems and standard office software.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate across time zones, and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to nature restoration and grassroots environmental action; prior experience in international or network-based organizations is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Non-profit Management, Communications, Environmental Studies, Business) is beneficial.
