Director - General Insurance M&A - Leading global management consultancy

Miryco Consultants is working with a leading global management consultancy that is looking to appoint a senior professional to lead and develop its General Insurance M&A offering.
This is a high-profile opportunity for an established insurance M&A professional with a strong track record and extensive network across the GI M&A market. The successful candidate will play a leading role in developing the firm's M&A proposition, originating new opportunities and advising senior insurance clients on complex transactions.
The role would suit an individual who has built a strong reputation within General Insurance M&A and has significant experience working with insurers, investors and other key stakeholders across the market.
The Opportunity
You will take a senior leadership position within the firm's General Insurance M&A practice, helping to shape and grow the proposition while continuing to operate at the forefront of the market.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and growth of the General Insurance M&A offering.
- Originate and develop new M&A opportunities through an established network across the GI market.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with insurers, reinsurers, investors, private equity firms and other financial services stakeholders.
- Lead the execution of complex M&A and strategic transactions from origination through to completion.
- Advise clients on acquisitions, disposals, mergers, strategic investments and broader corporate transactions.
- Provide strategic and commercial insight across the General Insurance market.
- Develop and lead high-performing teams across transaction and advisory engagements.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop the firm's wider insurance strategy and market proposition.
- Represent the business externally and build its profile within the GI M&A community.
- Identify emerging market trends, opportunities and potential new areas for growth.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level professionals within the wider team.

About You
We are looking for an established senior professional with a demonstrable track record in General Insurance M&A.
Ideally, you will have:
- Significant experience within General Insurance M&A, corporate finance or strategic transactions.
- An extensive and well-established network across the GI M&A market.
- A strong track record of originating and executing M&A transactions.
- Deep knowledge of the General Insurance sector and its key participants.
- Strong relationships with senior executives across insurers, reinsurers, investors and financial institutions.
- Experience working in a leading management consultancy, investment bank, corporate finance advisory business or similar environment.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
- The credibility and gravitas to operate effectively with C-suite and Board-level stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-management skills.
- Experience leading teams and developing junior talent.
- The ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to transaction execution.

Qualified actuary status would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite. We are equally interested in senior professionals who have developed their expertise through investment banking, corporate finance, consultancy or another relevant M&A environment.
