ABOUT RIXO
A rail of vintage dresses. A London flat. Two best friends who wanted to build the brand they couldn't find. That was 2015. Today, RIXO is six stores across London, New York, and Ireland, known for original hand-painted prints, bias-cut silhouettes, and sizing up to a UK 26. We design for every woman, every occasion, every body. The pieces are meant to be worn, loved, and kept.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an exceptional Head of Global Communications & Press to play a pivotal role in continuing to build RIXO's global profile, reputation and cultural relevance, leading RIXO's global communications function across press, influencer, affiliate, VIP and celebrity activity, as maternity cover for a critical 12-month period. This is a strategic and hands-on role, combining brand building with day-to-day execution and relationship management.
At the core of the role is relationship building. You'll be a natural networker and an exceptional communicator, with an established network across global fashion media, influencers, stylists, celebrities, VIPs and wider cultural tastemakers. Reporting directly to the Creative Director and Co-Founder, this role will work closely with the wider leadership team and marketing, creative, commercial and retail teams to identify opportunities to put RIXO at the centre of the cultural conversation and build meaningful, long-term relationships with the people who influence fashion and culture globally. We are looking for someone to start in January 2027.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Communications & Press Strategy
- Own RIXO's global communications and press strategy - annual and seasonal planning across markets, audiences and channels - aligned to wider brand, marketing and commercial objectives.
- Lead communications around collection launches, campaigns, brand partnerships and collaborations, ensuring consistent, compelling RIXO storytelling globally and identifying opportunities to reach new audiences.
- Manage communications relationships with partner brands and their agencies, ensuring collaborations deliver meaningful brand value and cultural relevance.
- Lead the profiling strategy for founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey, identifying high-value media, speaking and thought-leadership opportunities.
- Act as senior spokesperson and guardian of the RIXO brand, ensuring communications remain consistent with its values and positioning.
- Identify potential communications risks and ensure appropriate plans are in place, leading the response to reputational issues or crises in partnership with senior leadership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
