Head of Global Transformation
Our GCOO organisation is critical for HSBC. This team partners closely with business teams to drive simplification and deliver exceptional customer outcomes in Asia and the Middle East region which covers 26 markets, 600+ offices and branches, and more than 140,000 employees. By strengthening our control environment and enhancing risk management, we drive operational excellence and enable the bank to deliver focused and sustainable growth in this super-region.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Global Transformation.
Role Purpose:
The Head of Global Transformation is responsible to shape and drive the global change agenda (excluding AME), providing strategic direction and governance across all Change the Bank programmes and strategic initiatives in line with enterprise priorities, regulatory expectations and the GCOO functional strategy. They will represent GCOO in enterprise-wide change forums, building strong partnerships and managing stakeholders across Global Businesses, Group Infrastructure, GCOO, GCIO and the CEO Office. They will also work across boundaries to ensure a consistent approach and scalable solutions, while engaging key regulatory stakeholders to meet internal and external requirements.
Principal Accountabilities:
Overview
- Lead the global change agenda (excluding AME), providing strategic leadership and oversight of all Change the Bank (CtB) programmes and strategic initiatives, aligned to enterprise priorities, regulatory expectations, and GCOO functional strategy.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Group COO functions (BRR, Procurement, Real Estate, and Change Execution), accountable for the successful delivery of transformation-led change that improves outcomes for customers and colleagues.
- Report to the Head of Change Execution, GCOO, with responsibility for the strategy, cost, and performance of global transformation teams.
- Own the GCOO global CtB portfolio, driving value-stream adoption and consistent delivery methodologies to deliver measurable outcomes at pace and with transparency.
- Partner with GCOO OpCo, business lines, and technology to define priorities, secure funding, ensure effective resourcing, and deliver sustainable business outcomes.
- Lead major organisational change, embedding new operating models and structures and strengthening functional effectiveness.

Governance & Committee Memberships
- Participate in, and where required chair, governance and steering committees; provide clear updates and decision support.
- Ensure robust transformation governance, metrics, and reporting (OKRs/KPIs, benefits, risks/issues), including management information (MI) for senior stakeholders and external regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proactive remediation of material risks, issues, and audit/assurance findings.
Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders
- Establish and maintain portfolio management frameworks, including prioritisation, resource allocation, risk management, and benefits realisation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve customer journeys, increase efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance customer experience.
- Apply internal and external benchmarks to improve performance, practices, and service outcomes.
- Represent GCOO in enterprise-wide change forums and manage stakeholder relationships across Global Businesses, Group Infrastructure, GCOO, GCIO, and the CEO Office.
- Collaborate across Global Businesses and Group Infrastructure to ensure consistency of approach and solutions.
- Engage with key regulatory stakeholders to meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
Critical Experience Required:
- Global transformation and change delivery experience: End-to-end experience leading large-scale transformation and change programmes globally.
- Global Leadership and Collaboration: Lead a global team of change professionals, portfolio managers, value stream leads, and partner with senior executives, COO teams, business lines, and technology to build and define priorities, embed best practices, and deliver sustainable business outcomes.
- Regulatory Experience and Understanding: Strong understanding of global regulatory, risk, and control expectations, including audit standards and risk stewardship.

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
