Head of Governance (Maternity Cover | 12-Month FTC)
London | Hybrid (3 days on site)

Are you an experienced governance professional looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a purpose-driven organisation undergoing significant transformation?
Partnering with a well-respected national organisation, we are recruiting a Head of Governance to lead its governance, risk and assurance agenda during a maternity cover period.

The Role
As Head of Governance, you will be responsible for ensuring governance arrangements remain effective, proportionate and aligned with best practice, while supporting organisational progress and change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading governance activities across Board and Committee structures
  • Providing trusted advice to Trustees and senior leaders
  • Overseeing enterprise risk management and organisational risk frameworks
  • Managing internal audit activity and assurance reporting
  • Supporting regulatory compliance and governance obligations
  • Building strong relationships across the organisation to promote effective decision-making
  • Leading and developing a small governance and assurance team

This is a highly visible role, offering regular interaction with Trustees, senior leadership and executive stakeholders, with the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and organisational success.

About You
We're keen to speak with individuals who have experience across governance, risk, assurance or internal audit environments.

  • Experience developing or managing organisational risk frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the role of internal audit in providing organisational assurance
