Role Description
The Head of Government Relations is a full-time, hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, with a combination of on-site work in Sefton and flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for developing and executing the company’s government relations strategy, building strong relationships with national and local government bodies, and monitoring legislative and regulatory developments that may impact attractions and theme park operations. Day-to-day tasks include engaging with policymakers, preparing briefings and position papers, coordinating lobbying activities, and representing the company in consultations, hearings, and industry forums. The Head of Government Relations will collaborate closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between business objectives and public policy, and will support risk management and compliance through proactive engagement with governmental and regulatory frameworks.

- Strong expertise in Government Relations and Governmental Affairs, with the ability to shape and implement strategic engagement plans.
- Proven experience in Lobbying and Stakeholder Engagement, including building and maintaining relationships with policymakers, regulators, and community representatives.
- Solid understanding of Legislation and regulatory processes in the United Kingdom, particularly as they relate to the leisure, tourism, or infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to draft clear policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
- Relevant academic background in public policy, law, political science, business, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Prior experience in government, public affairs, or industry associations is highly beneficial, especially within the attractions, tourism, or entertainment industries.
- Capability to work in a hybrid environment, managing in-person and remote responsibilities effectively while maintaining strong professional relationships.
