We’re supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation in appointing an experienced GRC Lead.
Working closely with the CISO, you’ll take ownership of the cyber governance, risk and compliance function, support the existing team and turn security priorities into practical improvements. You’ll also act as a trusted deputy for the CISO when required.
This is a hands-on leadership position. It would suit someone who can set direction while remaining close to delivery, solving problems and helping the wider team move work forward.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and coordinating the cyber GRC programme.
- Developing cyber and information-risk management processes.
- Overseeing risk registers, treatment plans and governance reporting.
- Strengthening the organisation’s third-party security programme.
- Supporting security assurance and regulatory compliance activity.
- Contributing to NIS/NIS2 and CAF-related requirements.
- Developing governance and policies around identity and privileged access.
- Working with IT and business teams to turn security requirements into action.
- Supporting and developing members of the GRC team.
- Challenging existing approaches constructively and improving delivery.
- Deputising for the CISO when appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
