Citadel Source is delighted to partner with C&C Group in the search for a Group Head of Accounting Services, reporting directly to the Group Director of Finance.
This is a key leadership role within the finance function, responsible for driving operational excellence across accounting services while leading a high-performing team that supports multiple business units across Great Britain and Ireland.

The role
Based in either Bristol or Wellpark, the Group Head of Accounting will lead and develop the Group Accounting Services function, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class service to suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders. You will take ownership of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking operations across the UK and Ireland, driving process improvement, strengthening controls and enhancing operational performance across the finance function.

About you
This opportunity will suit a qualified accountant with proven leadership experience within a shared services, accounting services or transactional finance environment. You will have a track record of developing teams, improving processes and implementing robust controls within a fast-paced business. Strong stakeholder management skills, commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset will be essential for success in the role.
As Group Head of Accounting Services, your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead and develop the Accounting Services team, driving performance, engagement and delivery against key KPIs.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking operations across Great Britain and Ireland.
- Lead the transformation of the Accounting Services function, streamlining processes and driving automation opportunities.
- Implement best-practice controls and ensure a robust governance framework across all transactional finance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reporting quality and customer service.
- Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to develop meaningful KPIs and actionable insights.
- Sponsor systems and process improvement projects, helping modernise and future-proof the function.
- Manage audit relationships and ensure compliance across accounting operations.
- Oversee cash collections, payment approvals, intercompany activity and key escalations.
- Support cash flow forecasting and provide operational finance leadership to the wider organisation.
