Head of Growth – B2B Marketplace
Up to £120,000-140,000 + bonus + equity
London (Hybrid – 4 days in office)
Our client is one of the UK’s most recognised digital marketplace brands, connecting millions of consumers with tens of thousands of professionals across the UK.
The business is going through a major transformation, evolving from a traditional lead-generation and subscription model into a broader, product-led marketplace combining software, products and services for its professional customer base.
With a significant and growing base of free users already on the platform, the next challenge isn’t simply acquiring more customers. It’s building a modern Growth engine that converts that scale into long-term commercial value.
They’re looking for a Head of Growth to own the complete journey across acquisition, activation, onboarding, free-to-paid conversion, lifecycle, retention and expansion.
This is a Director-level opportunity for a commercially minded Growth leader who can combine strategy with hands-on problem solving across Marketing, Product, Sales, CRM and Data.
The Opportunity
- Own the end-to-end Growth strategy across acquisition, activation, conversion, retention and expansion
- Build a more predictable and scalable journey from free users through to paying customers
- Diagnose where Growth is being constrained and prioritise the highest-impact opportunities
- Balance self-serve and product-led Growth with Sales-assisted conversion
- Work with Product to improve onboarding, activation, customer experience and monetisation
- Diversify acquisition beyond established channels and identify new incremental Growth opportunities
- Build a structured experimentation roadmap across the entire customer lifecycle
- Use AI, automation and modern Growth tooling to create a smarter and more scalable Growth engine
- Influence significant acquisition investment and improve how Growth is measured
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, Marketing, CRM, Data and Finance

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You could already be operating at Head of/Director level, or you may be an exceptional Head of Growth ready to step into a broader Director-level mandate. What matters most is the Growth engine you’ve personally helped build, the problems you’ve solved and the commercial impact you’ve delivered.
This role is less suited to traditional Marketing Directors whose experience has become predominantly strategic or team-led, pure Performance Marketing leaders focused primarily on paid acquisition, or enterprise B2B marketers predominantly focused on ABM and long sales cycles.
