About Us
I'm Ken, founder of Invoice Ovaro Ltd. I'm looking for one person to help me run and grow the business, and I'm being upfront: this role isn't for everyone.
We help tradespeople run proper businesses. Ovaro Web Express builds tradespeople a professional website and lets them see it before they pay anything. Ovaro is our AI invoicing and bookkeeping app: you say the job, it writes the invoice. It's live on Android, with iPhone coming. Every website customer gets three months of Ovaro free, and we help them set up their business banking and register their company.
We have a sales team on the phones, Google Ads about to go live, and a plan to take this from the UK to the world.
Why Now
AI is going to change a lot of jobs. It isn't going to fit a boiler, rewire a house or lay a driveway. More people are going to move into the trades, and they'll need everything we offer from day one. We want to be the company that gets them started.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What You'll Do
Whatever needs doing. In your first few months that means:
- Running the day-to-day so I can focus on building
- Leading the sales team and closing website deals yourself
- Owning marketing: Google Ads, our message, and new channels that bring in tradespeople at a cost that works
- Spotting what's broken before customers do
- Helping hire and build the team as we grow
There's no manual. You'll have me, the systems we've built, and real trust.
Who You Are
You don't need experience in everything we do, because nobody has that. You do need to be:
- Someone who acts without being asked.
- Comfortable with how early-stage companies work: fast, messy, sometimes stressful, and yours to shape.
- Just as happy on the phone to a plumber as planning a campaign.
- Driven by results, not hours or titles.
- Someone who wants to win, and takes that seriously.

What You Get
- £36,000 basic salary.
- Commission on sales, mainly websites, with on-target earnings of £70,000 in year one.
- Equity for the right person, discussed openly once we know we're the right fit.
- A real say in where this goes, joining at the start, not once it's finished.
How to Apply
Don't send a CV first. Look at ovaroweb.com and ovaro.io, then message me with a short note or a two-minute voice note answering one question:
What's the first thing you'd change, and why?
I read every reply. The best ones won't be the most polished. They'll be the ones that show you actually looked.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
