Head of Growth & Business Development
Location: Hybrid Working
Clearance: SC Clearance required, DV highly desirable
Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Growth & Business Development to drive strategic growth across the UK Defence sector. This permanent role will focus on identifying, qualifying, and shaping major opportunities before transitioning them into formal sales and bid activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver long-term Defence growth strategies and roadmaps.
- Build senior relationships across MOD, military commands, government organisations, NATO, and industry partners.
- Identify, qualify, and shape complex Defence opportunities.
- Develop win strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, and investment cases.
- Establish strategic partnerships and routes-to-market.
- Support pre-sales activities and ensure opportunities are fully qualified before handover to bid teams.

Experience Required
- Proven experience within Defence business development, growth, capture, or sales leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of the UK Defence and Defence Digital landscape.
- Experience engaging senior Defence stakeholders and influencing strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrable track record of shaping large, complex opportunities through to bid readiness.
- Knowledge of Defence technology, digital transformation, secure communications, C4ISR, AI, or systems integration environments.
- Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience
- Established network across MOD, military commands, NATO, or the wider Defence industry.
- Experience within Defence technology, secure communications, cyber, AI, or digital transformation programmes.
- Experience gained within the Armed Forces, MOD, Strategic Command, or Defence industry would be highly advantageous.
