Head of Hard Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Hard Services to take overall responsibility for engineering and technical operations across a diverse London property portfolio.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for maintaining high technical and compliance standards, developing a strong engineering team and ensuring buildings remain safe, reliable and efficiently operated. You’ll work closely with Property and Facilities teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders, playing a key role in both operational delivery and wider asset performance.

The Role:

You’ll have overall ownership of Hard Services delivery across the portfolio, covering planned, reactive and emergency maintenance, statutory compliance, contractors and technical performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, developing and engaging a high-performing technical team.
• Setting clear standards around accountability, ownership and service delivery.
• Ensuring all statutory, regulatory and technical compliance requirements are met.
• Overseeing planned, reactive and emergency maintenance across multiple properties.
• Managing and challenging contractors and suppliers against agreed KPIs and service standards.
• Managing service contracts, variations, expenditure and overall value for money.
• Working closely with Property and Facilities Managers to resolve technical issues and improve client experience.
• Providing technical input into asset planning, lifecycle requirements and operational improvements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, standards and ways of working.
• Ensuring effective communication across internal teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
