Head of Health and Safety

Mansfield, Newcastle or Glasgow with Nationwide Travel

£80,000 - £90,000 + Car or Car Allowance and Excellent Benefits

Are you ready to take ownership of Health and Safety across a growing, multi-site waste and recycling business where you can make a genuine, lasting impact?

We are seeking a senior Head of Health and Safety to lead the safety strategy across a specialist UK-wide operation, with responsibility for approximately eight sites and further growth through organic expansion and acquisitions. This is a senior role for someone who can operate strategically while maintaining a visible presence across the sites. Based from Mansfield, Newcastle or Glasgow, with regular nationwide travel this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on safety performance and support the business through its next phase of growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
