Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham (with travel across the Midlands and South) Salary: £65,500 - £81,900 per annum

GreenSquareAccord is one of England's largest housing and care providers, supporting over 54,000 people across our communities. We're looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Health and Safety to lead our health and safety function, shape our organisational approach to risk management, and embed a positive safety culture across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished health and safety leader who is passionate about making a real difference within a values-led organisation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Governance, Quality and Compliance, you will act as GreenSquareAccord's competent person and specialist advisor for health and safety, providing assurance to the Board and Executive Team that our operations meet legislative and organisational requirements.

You will lead our Health and Safety team, driving continuous improvement, developing robust policies and strategies, and ensuring compliance across a diverse housing and care portfolio.

What We're Looking For

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Significant experience in a senior Health and Safety leadership role, ideally within social housing or a comparable medium to large organisation.
  • Experience of leading and managing a Health and Safety team.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing organisation-wide health and safety strategies, policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong experience leading health and safety audits, compliance programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel regularly across the Midlands and the South.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Health and Safety team, creating a high-performing, customer-focused service.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, strategies and compliance frameworks.
  • Lead organisational health and safety audits and oversee compliance monitoring.
  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Team, Board and operational leaders.
  • Drive a positive safety culture across the organisation.
  • Develop key performance indicators and reporting to measure health and safety performance.
  • Lead responses to incidents, investigations and regulatory matters.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators, external agencies and internal stakeholders.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check and provide evidence of all relevant qualifications before employment can commence.
