Overview
The Head of Health & Safety and Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust health & safety and security strategies across Montcalm Collection properties in London. The role ensures that all properties comply with current legislation, corporate standards, and best practices relating to health & safety, fire safety, guest security, emergency planning, and risk management.
The role leads and supports hotel-based teams in delivering safe environments for guests, employees, and visitors while ensuring the security infrastructure is fit for purpose and aligned with brand standards and local risk profiles.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all hotels comply with relevant health & safety legislation (including HSE, fire regulations, and licensing conditions).
- Manage and coordinate internal and external audits and inspections.
- Track actions and implement corrective/preventive measures following incidents or audits.
- Design and deliver (or coordinate) training for managers and staff on:
- Health & Safety awareness
- Fire safety and evacuation procedures
- Emergency response protocols
- Personal safety and incident reporting
- Conduct risk assessments and safety drills across all hotel locations.
- Lead on risk assessments for guest, employee, contractor, and site safety.
- Ensure dynamic risk assessments are in place for events, high-profile guests, or protest risks.
- Oversee accident/incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and lessons learned.
- Oversee physical and personnel security across all properties, including:
- CCTV systems
- Key control and access systems
- Contracted security personnel
- Guest security protocols and incident response
- Liaise with local police, emergency services, and third-party providers to manage local risks.
- Maintain and test emergency response, evacuation, and business continuity plans across all hotels.
- Lead or support crisis responses to major incidents (e.g., fire, injury, security breach).
- Monitor and analyse incident trends across the estate, identifying hotspots or recurring risks.
- Produce regular reports and updates for the senior management team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with GDPR and compliance requirements.

Skills & Qualifications
- Calm under pressure, analytical and detail focused.
- Diplomatic and able to engage across all levels.
- Able to show integrity and discretion in handling sensitive issues and confidential information.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Ability to conduct training and presentations.
- Excellent investigation, report writing, and auditing skills.
- Proven experience in a multi-site Health & Safety and/or Security leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, access systems, and incident management tools.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
- First Aid at Work.
- Fire Safety Certification.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position, based in the head office, or as required by the business.
- Flexible to travel frequently in between properties.
- Out-of-hours work may be necessary in the event of emergencies, projects, or audits.
- Occasional overnight stays if required for project supervision or off-site meetings.
Eligibility
Candidates must be authorized to live and work in the UK. Currently, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
