Salary: £85,000 + Excellent Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

An established and highly respected UK construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Health & Safety to lead and develop its health, safety and wellbeing strategy across the organisation.

This is a senior leadership opportunity where you'll work closely with the Managing Director and Board, driving a positive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, and continuously improving health and safety performance across multiple projects and business functions.

The Role

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the company's Health & Safety strategy and promoting best practice throughout the business.
  • Providing expert advice to Directors and senior leadership on all health and safety matters.
  • Managing, coaching and developing the Health & Safety team.
  • Ensuring compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and Building Safety requirements.
  • Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations, implementing lessons learned.
  • Monitoring performance, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting client bids, audits and accreditations including CHAS.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, insurers and supply chain partners.
  • Promoting wellbeing initiatives and fostering a proactive safety culture across the business.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who has:

  • A proven track record in a senior Health & Safety leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and Building Safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership teams and driving cultural change.
  • The ability to develop teams, improve systems and implement best practice across a growing business.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a genuine passion for creating safer working environments.
