Where Will You Be Working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be as Head of Health & Safety within our SHEQ team. The ideal candidate location for this role is central to the UK, to be able to visit all sites.
What Will You Be Doing?
As Head of Health & Safety, you will provide leadership for the Division’s Health & Safety team, driving a proactive, high‑performing safety culture and rigorous compliance.
- You'll deliver the Health & Safety strategy, embed consistent standards, and influence behaviours at all levels of the business.
- Through visible leadership, collaboration and strong stakeholder engagement, you will strengthen client confidence, support operational excellence, and advance our ambition that everybody goes home safe and well, while delivering industry‑leading performance.
- You'll lead and deliver the Divisional Health & Safety strategy, driving behavioural safety, governance and cultural improvement.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company standards, overseeing assurance processes and incident investigations.
- We'll ask you to monitor performance through KPIs, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- You'll build strong client and stakeholder relationships while aligning best practice across the Group.
- Embed Health & Safety into operations through audits, site visits and effective systems.
- You'll provide strong people leadership, developing capability, driving change, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team aligned to business priorities.

What You’ll Bring
- Relevant degree level qualification or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Chartered membership of IOSH/IIRSM (CMIOSH or higher).
- Significant senior-level experience in a Health & Safety leadership role.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and management systems.
- Proven ability to lead cultural change and influence safe behaviours.
- Experience delivering complex projects, managing scope, budgets and timelines.
- Ability to monitor and report performance against project KPIs.
- Strong commitment to best practice application and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading teams, setting expectations, managing performance and mentoring colleagues.
- Experience achieving or maintaining externally audited standards (e.g., ISO 45001, Achilles).
- Visible and engaging leadership style, demonstrating strong influence and the ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Divisions and Group‑wide functions.
- Role model behaviours aligned to safety, ethics and professional integrity.
- Customer focused and solution-oriented approach, with a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation within Health & Safety functions.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to various locations with regular overnight stays.
