Salary range: Grade CSR B £94,918 - £100,805 p.a. plus fantastic benefits
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Croydon

Identifying Opportunities. Securing Investment. Delivering New Homes.

Croydon is one of London's largest boroughs and we have ambitious plans to increase housing supply, regenerate communities and deliver high-quality homes for residents.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Housing Growth to lead the identification, appraisal and development of future housing opportunities across the borough. You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for building and maintaining a pipeline of housing and regeneration schemes that support Croydon's long term growth ambitions.

This is a pivotal leadership role focused on the front end of the development process. You will oversee site identification, feasibility studies, viability assessments, business case development, planning and procurement activity, ensuring opportunities are thoroughly assessed and progressed through governance and approval processes. Working closely with residents, elected members, developers, consultants, funding bodies and strategic partners, you will help unlock development opportunities, secure investment and shape future regeneration programmes.

You will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects, balancing commercial considerations, resident priorities and long-term value for the borough. As a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to wider Housing Directorate priorities and play a key role in delivering Croydon's housing growth and regeneration ambitions.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience in housing development, regeneration, property or growth programmes
  • A strong track record of identifying, appraising and securing development opportunities
  • Experience developing business cases, feasibility studies and viability assessments
  • Strong commercial, financial and programme management skills
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing external partners
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience working within a complex and politically sensitive environment
  • A passion for delivering housing growth, regeneration and positive outcomes for communities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
