Head of HR
We're working exclusively with an established, multi-site organisation to appoint their next Head of HR. Employing around 350 people across several UK locations, this is a successful independent business with ambitious growth plans and a culture built on trust, long-term relationships and practical leadership.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in shaping the organisation's people strategy whilst ensuring the culture that has underpinned its success continues to thrive. This is far more than a traditional HR leadership role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being visible across the business, building trusted relationships and helping leaders develop high-performing teams.
What will the Head of HR role involve?
- Developing and delivering a people strategy aligned to business growth
- Acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team
- Supporting leadership capability, succession planning and organisational development
- Driving employee engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives
- Leading recruitment strategy and talent development
- Supporting organisational change across a multi-site operation
- Reviewing and improving HR processes to ensure they remain practical, efficient and commercially focused
- Leading the HR team and ensuring employment practices remain compliant

Suitable Candidate for the Head of HR role:
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role
- Experience supporting a growing multi-site organisation
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance people and business priorities
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience developing leaders and organisational capability
- A visible, approachable leadership style that builds trust across all levels
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience within distribution, logistics, wholesale, manufacturing or another operational environment would be advantageous
Salary & Benefits for the role of Head of HR:
- £75,000 - £80,000 dependent on experience
