Why Labman
We're a team of engineers, makers, problem-solvers, and support teams who enjoy what we do. As we've grown, we've stayed true to our values: being approachable, backing each other, and creating an environment where people can do their best work. We're now looking for an experienced HR leader who enjoys being close to the business, solving real people challenges, and developing great HR teams.
Labman is a special place. We design and build some of the world's most advanced laboratory automation systems - and we've built a culture that values curiosity, excellence, and fun. If you’re an experienced HR professional who wants to make real impact, help shape the future of a growing business, and work alongside people who genuinely want to get things done, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
This is a hands-on HR leadership role reporting to our Head of People & Culture. You'll lead a small but mighty HR team turning our wider people strategy into practical, consistent, and legally compliant delivery. You'll lead and develop the HR function, supporting managers with expert advice, taking ownership of employee relations and employment matters, driving improvements to policies and processes, and ensuring HR continues to evolve alongside the growth of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
