About The Role
Job Purpose
As Head of HR - Bars, you will lead the delivery of operational and strategic HR support across the BrewDog Bars business, ensuring our people remain at the centre of everything we do. Acting as the senior People lead for Bars, you will oversee the consistency, quality and impact of HR partnering across all UK bar sites, while building capability within your team and strengthening leadership effectiveness across the business.
You will directly lead and develop the HR Operations & Training Partners for Bars North and South, ensuring a consistent and high quality partnering approach across all regions. You will provide coaching, guidance and operational support to your team, stepping in where required to support complex operational challenges, leadership coaching and employee relations matters. Alongside operational leadership, this role will lead key strategic people initiatives across the Bars business, including succession planning, leadership capability, learning and development projects, performance management initiatives and the ongoing delivery and embedding of the P2G appraisal process.
Working closely with the HRD - UK and wider People Team, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior operational stakeholders, balancing commercial priorities with employee experience, legal compliance and long-term people strategy. This role requires strong visibility across the Bars estate, with regular travel across sites and London as required. This role sits within the wider Tilray International HR team.

Key Result Area / Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the HR Operations & Training Partners for Bars North and South, building capability, consistency and confidence across the team.
- Create a high-performing partnering function across the Bars business, ensuring strong collaboration, accountability and operational excellence.
- Provide guidance, escalation support and oversight on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, legally compliant and commercially balanced outcomes.
- Support and challenge your direct reports to continuously improve their stakeholder management, coaching capability and operational impact.
- Ensure consistent application of people policies, processes and practices across all Bars locations.
- Contribute to (and lead on where required) special projects, such as performance management rollout, system implementations, or other key strategic projects.
- Act as a senior escalation point for operational people matters across the Bars business.
- Day to Day management and responding to queries in the People Team Inbox
- Partner closely with Bars leadership teams to align people priorities with operational and commercial objectives.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the Bars business, providing pragmatic, commercially focused people advice and challenge.
- Guide and coach Line Managers in implementing best practice across employee relations, performance management, engagement and team development.
- Support workforce planning and succession planning activity across the Bars estate.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities across the business and proactively implement solutions to improve consistency, engagement and operational effectiveness.
- Step into operational partnering support where required to ensure continuity of service delivery across the Bars function.
- Work collaboratively with the wider UK People Team, including the People Experience Manager and HR Operations & Training Partners across other business areas.
- Contribute to wider People initiatives, projects and functional priorities across the UK business.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure joined-up and effective people delivery across the organisation.
- Working as part of the wider Tilray International HR team to deliver Tilray initiatives, projects and priorities.

About You
Qualifications & Specific Training
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent relevant experience) is required
Experience
- Significant experience within operational HR partnering or HR leadership roles within hospitality, retail or fast paced operational environments. Proven track record of coaching and developing HR teams and operational leaders. Experience managing complex employee relations matters and supporting multi-site operations. Experience leading strategic HR initiatives and organisational development projects. Strong experience balancing operational delivery with strategic people priorities.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of HR processes, employee relations and UK Employment Law. Good understanding and ability with using various HRIS systems. Proficient and confident in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability. Excellent coaching and leadership skills. Ability to balance commercial priorities with employee experience and compliance. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to navigate complexity and drive consistency across multiple locations. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
