Role: Head of HR
Duration: 12 month FTC (Maternity Cover)

AnalogFolk is an independent, next generation creative group comprising AnalogFolk, Untold Fable and Otomo. We partner with bold and ambitious brands to deliver creative and innovative solutions to help drive brand growth.
We are looking for an experienced Head of HR / Head of People / People Lead to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract (Maternity Cover) to lead our People function across the group (AnalogFolk, Untold Fable & Otomo), supporting approximately 70 employees in total across our UK (London) and US (New York) offices.
This role is ideal for a hands-on HR generalist who enjoys partnering with leaders, supporting employees through the full employee lifecycle, and ensuring HR operations run smoothly and effectively.
The Role
Working closely with our senior leadership team and managers across brands and locations, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the People function across the business.
You will provide pragmatic, commercial and people-focused HR support to managers and employees, ensuring excellent employee experience whilst maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Act as the sole HR advisor to managers and senior leaders
- Provide guidance on performance management, probation, absence management, disciplinary and grievance matters, and terminations.
- Coach managers on people management best practice and employment legislation
- Manage employee relations matters including maternity and parental leave, flexible working requests, long-term sickness and workplace adjustments
- Support leaders with organisational design, workforce planning and hiring decisions where required
- Support hiring managers with recruitment as required, including briefing recruiters, coordinating interviews, collating feedback and advising on salary benchmarking
- Partner with managers on employee development, career progression and succession planning conversations

HR Operations, Payroll & Benefits
- Lead all aspects of the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding
- Ensure employment contracts, policies, employee records and HR systems are maintained accurately
- Oversee probation processes, employee changes and organisational updates
- Own the monthly payroll process in partnership with Finance, ensuring payroll changes are processed accurately and on time
- Manage employee benefits, including renewals, enrolment, leavers and employee queries
- Continuously review our benefits offering to ensure it remains competitive and relevant
- Support the freelance onboarding process on an ad hoc basis when required (including drafting agreements, NDAs etc)
Performance, Engagement & Culture
- Manage the annual performance review process, supporting managers and employees throughout
- Ensure employees and managers are confident using our HRIS, BambooHR, and provide training where required
- Partner with leaders to identify learning and development needs
- Support employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives
- Manage employee feedback processes (exit interviews, new joiner feedback conversations, engagement surveys etc), helping translate insights into actions
- Coordinate our monthly Company Meeting schedule and support wider culture initiatives
- Help ensure company values are reflected in day-to-day people practices
- Champion and coordinate our monthly employee bonus scheme (Hall of Folk)
HR Systems, Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain the HRIS and absence management systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Produce regular HR reporting and insights for leadership, including turnover, engagement, diversity and exit interview trends
- Monitor and report on diversity, equity and inclusion metrics, including gender pay gap and ethnicity representation data, partnering with leadership to identify actions and support progress against agreed targets
- Monitor absence, holiday and workforce data, ensuring employees follow the appropriate processes
- Maintain HR documentation, policies and employee records
- Support with audits, supplier due diligence requests and client RFIs, providing HR policies, workforce data and compliance information as required
- Ensure compliance with UK and US employment legislation and HR best practice
- Review and update policies and procedures as required

Office & Workplace Management
- Partner with the Office Manager to ensure a positive employee workplace experience
- Support with office-related projects and workplace improvements as required.
Skills & Experience
- Significant HR generalist experience in a standalone or senior HR role
- Strong employee relations experience and employment law knowledge
- Experience managing payroll and benefits administration
- Experience advising managers and senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance employee experience, legal risk and commercial considerations
- Comfortable working independently and managing a broad range of responsibilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience within a creative/agency environment preferred
- Experience supporting employees based in the US (New York) - an understanding of legislation and regulations
- Experience managing office or workplace operations
