Role Overview
The Head of HR will lead the HR function across the business, owning the people strategy end-to-end — spanning employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, learning and development, employee engagement, and HR operations. This is a senior leadership role, reporting into [Executive/Board level], responsible for building and leading the HR team, advising the leadership team on all people matters, and ensuring our HR strategy directly supports business growth and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the overall HR strategy in line with business goals.
- Lead and develop the HR team and advise senior leadership on people matters.
- Oversee employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters, engagement and wellbeing.
- Own the performance management framework, including KPIs, reviews and development plans.
- Lead talent acquisition and workforce planning, including senior and leadership hiring.
- Oversee HR policies, UK employment law, GDPR, payroll, benefits and HR operations.
- Set the strategic direction for learning, development and career progression.
- Drive organisational development, succession planning and DEI initiatives.
- Act as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership and the Board.
- Support organisational growth, culture, accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements
- Degree in HR, Business Administration or related field.
- CIPD Level 7 – essential.
- 8+ years of UK HR experience, including Head/Senior HR experience.
- Experience building and leading HR teams.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and complex employee relations.
- Proven experience developing and implementing HR strategy.
- Experience with end-to-end recruitment and senior hiring.
- Consultancy, technology or fast-growing organisation experience desirable.
- Strong commercial, communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
