Overview

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Health, Safety, Sustainability & Quality (HSSQ) to lead and shape the strategic direction of HSSQ across Vision Built. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving integrated management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and embedding a culture of excellence, safety, and sustainability across all operations.
Contract: minimum 12 months contract role
Responsibilities
General
- Act as the Vision Built Lead for Health, Safety, Sustainability and Quality internally and externally.
- Lead on the development and implementation of the Vision Built HSSQ Strategy and budget, including Vision Built Sustainability Roadmap
- Lead on the development and implementation of the Vision Built Management system with the aim of developing a IMS that suits the size, scale and scope of operations.
- Integration of the following standards through the Management System across all functions and projects:
- ISO45001
- ISO9001
- ISO14001
- BOPAS
- EN1090
- NSAI Agrement 2D
- NSAI Agrement 3 D
- Provide Health, Safety, Sustainability and Quality advice and support to operations and manufacturing delivery teams and stakeholders.
- Act as Vision Built lead for engagement with regulatory bodies e.g. HSA, HSE
- Act as Vision Built lead for HSSQ within Sisk, working collaboratively and transparently with the OHSQ Director, Sustainability Director and other key roles to drive group standards and best practice
- Be aware of critical legislative changes and best practices to enable the provision of competent HSSQ advice to the site stakeholders.
- Implementation of Vision Built Incident reporting and investigation, including escalation and final close out and sharing of lessons learned
- Act as Vision Built lead for the management of potential claims
- Mentor, coach and where required members of the team
- Be aware of own limitations so that advice given remains within those limitations.
- Create a culture of learning through ongoing sharing of knowledge from Vision Built, Sisk and wider industry to drive continual improvement
Information Management
- Develop robust reporting processes with maximum utilisation of Core Sisk Systems including EcoOnline, Msite, Smartwaste, Cornerstone
- Accountability for the implementation of information management for project and function level information through use of Dalux and Sharepoint.
- Develop and implement processes for the inspection and testing of products and works at all stages of the design and built process including technical submittals, ITPs & ITRs, BCAR and Project Quality Sign off.
- Development and implementation of information management systems inline with ISO19650 and supporting country Annexes
- Lead on GDPR compliance for Vision Built, in line with Sisk Data Protection policies.

Sustainability
- Develop and coordinate implementation of Vision Built Sustainability Roadmap across all functions.
- Lead on development and communication of external reports such as the Carbon Reduction Plan and Sustainability Plan
- Lead on Sustainability Reporting in line with Carbon Reduce Program/Achilles, CSRD and Sisk Group Reporting
- Coordinate LCAs for different product types via the BOM and modelling with Sisk ISS teams.
Governance, Assurance, Performance and Reporting
- Develop and implement assurance processes to monitor and measure performance of projects against the VB Management System
- Own and lead on the implementation of the VB Audit Plan
- Report on performance through monthly, quarterly and annual management reviews which drive annual strategic objectives
- Define and report on Vision Built KPIs
- Act as Vision Built key contact for auditing bodies e.g. NSAI, BOPAS, Achilles, CHAS, Constructionline etc
People, Training and Development
- Manage HSSQ function, including allocation of resourcing in line with business requirements, ensuring adequate cover for Health and Safety is provided
- Support the HR function to develop company wide/ jurisdictional specific Training Matrix inline with legal and industry requirements
- Develop capacity withing HSSQ function to develop and delivery inhouse training for VB and contractors
- Support Manufacturing lead in continued roll out of MMC Traineeship.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide main point of contact for enforcement agencies following their visits or investigations.
- Represent Vision Built on industry groups such as CIF and MMC Ireland
- Tracking products through manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
Business Development/Work Winning
- Assist tender and prequalification teams where requested advising on HSSQ requirements and responses
- Lead on the maintenance of certifications that support ongoing work winning including compliance with Common Assessment Standard Scheme e.g. CHAS or Constructionline.
Experience
- At least 10 years as a Health and Safety, Sustainability, Quality or HSSQ professional within construction or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of developing and managing high performance teams across a matrix resource model
- Strong knowledge of the Irish Construction Regs and UK CDM regs, as well as general H&S legislation, Codes of Practice and recognised Standards
- Familiar with quality standards and processes to follow national and international regulations.
- Understanding of current and evolving sustainability reporting requirements
- Strong Interpersonal and engagement skills
- Strong IT skills in MS Office tools and OHS/Env reporting systems
- Demonstrable Leadership abilities.
- Decisive and influential skills across all levels.
- Able to communicate clearly, both orally & in writing.
- Ability to liaise with external stakeholders to mitigate risk to the business.
- Time management and organisation.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- Quality experience and/or training
- Sustainability experience and/or training
- Grad IOSH or higher /equivalent
- Strong understanding and experience in Behavioural Based Safety, Occupational Health, BIM/Information
- Awareness of lifting operations: BS7121/ IS 361.
- Temp Works Awareness
- Lead Auditor & Ideally IEMA qualified.
- Incident Investigation Training
