Artis HR is supporting an exciting, fast-growing brand based in Bristol with the appointment of a Head of HR.

This is a really varied senior HR role, with the opportunity to take ownership of the people function and play a key part in shaping the next stage of the business as it continues to grow.

You’ll work closely with the senior management team, acting as a trusted people partner while also being a visible and approachable point of contact for employees across the business.

The role

This is a broad, hands-on role covering everything from day-to-day HR and ER through to people strategy, development and culture.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Taking ownership of the HR and people function across the business
  • Partnering with the CEO, founders and senior leadership team on people strategy
  • Managing complex ER matters including performance, absence, capability, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Coaching managers and helping them become more confident people leaders
  • Leading recruitment, onboarding and the wider employee lifecycle
  • Developing learning, development and career progression opportunities
  • Building effective performance management and employee engagement approaches
  • Using people data and employee feedback to identify priorities and opportunities
  • Supporting workforce planning, organisational design and change
  • Ensuring HR policies, processes and practices remain compliant and fit for purpose
  • Bringing the right level of structure and governance as the business grows, without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
