Head of iDNO, New Independent Distribution Network Operator

UK flexible | Permanent | Founding team | Travel as required

About our client

I'm recruiting for a major UK energy group that is new to the iDNO market and is launching its first Independent Distribution Network Operator (iDNO) business, built from scratch. You'd lead the founding team, with the backing of an established group and the pace of a start-up.

The opportunity

As Head of iDNO, you'll be the founding business leader and the accountable external face of this new regulated electricity infrastructure business. You'll lead its establishment, licensing, mobilisation and growth, setting the strategy and operating model and building the team that will run it long term. You'll be the principal interface with Ofgem, code bodies and key industry stakeholders, and will develop relationships with ICPs, developers, customers and strategic partners.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
