About The Role

We are looking for a strategic thinking, flexible, and creative individual, who can successfully challenge the status quo, who has suitable proven Indirect procurement experience, commensurate with the role. Working within a fast-paced and fluid environment, ideally coming from within the Luxury Cosmetic or Personal Care industry, with a large global focus on e-commerce support.

The individual will have global remit for sourcing and cost reduction across the full range of Indirect categories. Key categories of focus include IT/Tech, Marketing (including Digital), PR & events, Professional Services, and Store Design/Visual Merchandising (both design and fixtures/fittings). They must be able to demonstrate delivery of significant savings within category.

Take a lead role in influencing both central and regional key stakeholders towards a global category plan which they've facilitated across the teams, including a pipeline and roadmap for delivery across the coming 12-18 months.

As a Head of Indirect Procurement you will

  • Responsibility for development and delivery of the key Indirect category sourcing strategy, and plans, working closely with global/regional leads to gain 'buy-in' to and deliver a global strategy plan in agreement with the Global Procurement Director.
  • As part of category strategy identify risks and consolidation opportunities within supply base, including challenging specification 'needs' vs. 'wants'.
  • Spend Mapping of all associated spend data to support sourcing strategy, evolving current solution to something more 'fit for purpose'.
  • Forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on all assigned cost initiatives monthly, including full ownership within the Cost Initiative pipeline tracker.
  • Ownership for full justification business cases for team expansion as required.
  • As a subject matter expert, providing critical challenge to the current supply base with key operational stakeholders and present alternate solutions that optimise business growth and improve business efficiencies in line with the category plan.
  • Developing and owning, in agreement with the Procurement Director, aggressive Cost Initiative reduction targets on a 12-month rolling annual basis, including setting budget cost targets.
  • New supplier sourcing and tendering programmes with development and monitoring of full 24-month sourcing pipeline.
  • Ownership for Indirect team development, including identification of gaps and needs, upskilling through training, knowledge gaining and for each member to have a Personal Development Plan (PDP), knowing what they need to achieve to attain their next promotion.
  • Ensuring that contracts in place for all spend above £100k, ensuring legacy supplier contracts added to meet Procurement overall KPI's.
  • Ensuring compliance both within Procurement and wider business of the use of Globability tendering solution.
  • Establish and manage QBR process across identified key category suppliers, including KPI/SLA implementation and monitoring, including building SLA's into legacy supplier agreements.
  • Owning Indirect procurement finance tracker, including team annual budgets, ensuring all Opex/Capex required for the team is captured and monitored.
  • Work with PUIG teams to identify and implement Indirect Category synergies where appropriate.
  • Develop and implement procurement processes to ensure 'maverick' spend minimised, and multiple similar vendor set-ups consolidated.
  • Ownership for setting up and maintaining risk management policy and supplier monitoring.
  • Ownership for Supplier Categorisation hierarchies, and taxonomy.

About You

Competency Must Haves

  • Building 'Best in Class' Team - Needs to be able to demonstrate building and leadership of strategic Indirect procurement/sourcing team, with full competence matrix, PDP and recognition of successes.
  • Disrupt & Innovate - Must be able to think 'outside the box', constantly bringing new ideas and process evolutions to the table and then delivering against them.
  • Learning Curve - Capability to quickly take on board and disseminate new data/info around operational business needs and quickly develop into a sourcing plan of action.
  • Attention to Detail - Able to work at an extremely fast pace, without making unchecked errors across a wide range of cost initiative projects at the same time.
  • Conflicting Priorities - Ability to commit to and deliver against deadlines agreed, where there will be multiple priorities to consider and manage.
  • Project Management Guru - Must be conversant with both sourcing tenders/RFP processes as well as VAVE project management with suppliers. Strong management of both external and internal stakeholders to deliver a project on time, with significant associated savings.
  • Commercial acumen - Role holder must have strong negotiation skills with clear demonstrable consistent cost saving achievements both from tendering and negotiation, as well as project managing value engineering cost initiatives.
  • Autonomy - Must be able to take responsibility for own resource time, prioritising 'biggest bang for your buck' and ownership of delivery, with minimal direct support.

Experience Expectations

  • Thorough knowledge of supply markets, supplier capabilities, and competitor activity.
  • Thorough subject matter expertise in at least two of the Indirect categories mentioned.
  • Previous procurement experience within Luxury Cosmetic or Personal care business.
  • Previous experience supporting e-comms tech and performance marketing solutions.
  • Some experience within third party logistics fulfilment and B2C couriers, to support Procurement Manager - Logistics.
  • Must be able to demonstrate having developed and implemented Indirect category strategy reviews and plans.
  • Strong data analysis capability to support category strategy development.
  • Sound legal contract knowledge and experience. Confident in ownership of legal compliance for contracts less than £100k.
  • Must be comfortable working with ambiguous and/or incomplete information to achieve a significant cost benefit result.
  • Demonstrated use and implementation of 'source to contract' e-sourcing tools a distinct advantage.
  • Ideally have CIPS accreditation.
  • Must have experience and worked within a 'Source to Contract' system previously.

  • Knowledge of vector databases and retrieval strategies.
  • Experience with recommender systems and ranking models.
  • Familiarity with LLM evaluation tools (e.g., RAGAS, TruLens, LangSmith, Arize).
  • A working understanding of cloud networking and platform infrastructure.
  • Experience in e-commerce or retail environments.
