Amtis is delighted to be partnering with a growing and ambitious organisation to recruit a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) / Director of Information Security & Governance

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced security and information governance leader to take ownership of the organisation's cyber security, information security and governance agenda. Working closely with senior leadership, you will define and execute the security strategy, strengthen governance and risk management frameworks, and ensure the organisation's information assets are protected while enabling continued business growth.

This role is ideally suited to an individual already operating as a CISO, Head of Information Security, or equivalent senior leader, who thrives in a dynamic environment where influence, visibility and commercial pragmatism are more important than large team structures. While strategic in nature, this is a highly engaged leadership role requiring a balance of vision, governance, stakeholder management and practical delivery through a small internal team and specialist external partners.

The Role

As CISO, you will be responsible for the organisation's overall cyber security, information security and information governance capability. You will assess current maturity, establish a clear roadmap for improvement, and ensure security and governance remain aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will champion security best practice while helping the business manage risk effectively and pragmatically.

This is not a large corporate security function. Success will come through leadership, influence, prioritisation and the ability to maximise the effectiveness of a lean internal team and external specialist providers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
