Head of IT - West Midlands

Location: North of Birmingham

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Requirement: You MUST drive

A Head of IT is required for a business based just North of Birmingham, to help drive their technology function forwards, both technically and from a people perspective. You will be coming in to head up a well established team that spans core Infrastructure and Service Delivery, Cyber Security, Data and Business Systems, some of which are a little leftfield but the principles of managing and leading them are the same!

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of circa 14 people with a much smaller number of direct reports.
  • Being close enough to the detail to be able to coach and support them, whilst not being "hands on" yourself necessarily.
  • Managing budget responsibility for technology.
  • Working very closely with the COO to agree and put in place a new and updated Technology roadmap to deliver.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
