Group Head of IT
Location: Lincolnshire
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We’re working with an established, family-owned organisation operating across agriculture, energy and water, who are looking for a Group Head of IT to lead their technology function and support the continued growth of the business.
With a focus on innovation, sustainability and operational excellence, this is an opportunity to take ownership of IT across a diverse group of businesses, driving digital transformation, improving processes and ensuring technology delivers real commercial value.
Your Responsibilities
- IT Strategy & Transformation: Develop and deliver the group-wide IT strategy, modernising systems and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and technology.
- Team Leadership: Lead, develop and motivate a team of seven, creating a collaborative, high-performing IT function.
- IT Operations & Infrastructure: Oversee IT service delivery, infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud services, backups and disaster recovery across multiple sites.
- Microsoft Technologies: Manage and develop the Microsoft environment, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint security.
- Business Systems & Applications: Oversee business applications, system upgrades and integrations, including ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV.
- Automation & Data: Identify opportunities to streamline processes using Power Apps, Power Automate and other modern technologies, alongside reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Project Delivery: Lead technology projects from initial planning and business cases through to implementation, ensuring they deliver measurable business benefits.
- Cybersecurity & Risk: Maintain robust security, access controls, risk management and business continuity arrangements.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Work with teams across the business to understand their needs, manage external IT partners and oversee budgets, contracts and licensing.

You’ll ideally bring
- Proven experience leading IT operations and technology strategy within a multi-site or multi-business organisation.
- Strong people management skills, with experience leading and developing technical teams.
- A track record of delivering IT strategies, technology roadmaps and digital transformation projects.
- A solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity.
- Experience supporting ERP or business systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
- The ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, systems integration and automation.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior leadership.
- Commercial awareness, including supplier management, contract negotiation, licensing and budget control.
- A collaborative, adaptable approach, with the ability to balance long-term strategy with the practical demands of running an IT function.
