We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of IT to establish and lead our IT function as a newly created department.

This is a broad leadership role covering IT strategy, infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, migrations, policies, AI, suppliers and IT operations. The successful candidate will build the function from the ground up and create the technology foundations required to support the company's growth.

The role requires someone who is both strategic and hands-on, able to set the technology direction while taking ownership of critical operational and technical matters.

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and own the company's IT strategy and 12–24 month technology roadmap, aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Establish the IT function, including team structure, processes, governance, service delivery and resourcing requirements.
  • Build and lead the internal IT team while determining where MSPs, consultants and specialist technology partners are required.
  • Act as the senior technology leader, working with the Executive Leadership Team and business departments to identify technology opportunities, risks and priorities.

Infrastructure & IT Operations

  • Take overall responsibility for IT infrastructure, including networks, connectivity, cloud services, servers, Microsoft 365, devices, telephony and collaboration platforms.
  • Establish reliable, secure and scalable IT operations, including monitoring, maintenance, support, asset management and software licensing.
  • Develop appropriate technology standards and ensure systems are properly documented, supported and maintained.
  • Establish a professional IT service model covering service desk, incidents, requests, problems, changes and user support.

Systems & Applications

  • Take ownership of the company's business systems and applications, ensuring they support current and future business requirements.
  • Review the existing technology estate to identify duplication, legacy systems, technical debt, inefficiencies and opportunities for integration.
  • Develop a clear application and systems roadmap, including recommendations for replacement, consolidation or investment.
  • Work with business stakeholders to improve processes through technology, automation and better integration between systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
