Hybrid Working
Stanton House is partnering with a growing, private equity-backed professional services group to appoint a hands-on Head of Technology.
The business is bringing together specialist consultancy firms through acquisition. It needs a technology leader who can establish common systems and standards, deliver its data strategy and build the foundations to support continued growth.
Working closely with the CFO, business leaders and the investor’s central technology team, you will own day-to-day IT alongside a five-year technology transformation roadmap. You will deliver through a lean operating model, making effective use of managed service providers, software vendors and specialist partners while remaining personally involved in implementation.
The opportunity
Acquired businesses bring different technology environments, data, processes and ways of working. Your role will be to turn these into a scalable platform that improves operational visibility, consultant productivity and client delivery.
You will determine where standardisation creates value and where specialist capabilities should be retained. This requires commercial judgement, practical delivery skills and the ability to bring acquired business leaders and professional teams through change.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technology roadmap: Develop and deliver a five-year plan with clear priorities, investment requirements, dependencies and measurable business outcomes.
- Deliver through a lean team: Establish a proportionate technology operating model, combining internal ownership with external expertise. Hold providers accountable for service quality, cost and delivery.
- Drive standardisation: Establish common technology standards and lead business systems implementation and integration across the group.
- Deliver the data strategy: Improve data ownership, quality and consistency, creating reliable reporting and the foundations for automation and responsible AI adoption.
- Support acquisition due diligence: Assess technology estates, cyber risks, supplier arrangements and integration requirements, identifying costs and investment needs before completion.
- Lead acquisition integration: Create repeatable Day 1 and 100-day plans, integrating systems and data while minimising disruption to client work.
- Maintain strong IT foundations: Oversee infrastructure, service delivery, cyber security and business continuity as the platform scales.
- Build business engagement: Work directly with Finance, Operations and consultancy teams to understand requirements, improve workflows and drive adoption.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
