Head of IT
Salary: Up to £130,000
Location: London – 3 days per week onsite
Working pattern: Hybrid
Availability: Immediate starters only
We’re working with a growing, technology-led business that is looking for an experienced Head of IT to take full ownership of its global corporate IT function.
This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine end-to-end accountability across infrastructure, systems, identity, endpoints, service delivery and vendor management. You’ll have a strong mandate to drive operational efficiency, optimise the IT estate and deliver meaningful cost savings.
This is not a coordination or ticket-triage role. We’re looking for someone who has owned and operated an IT function end to end and is comfortable being the senior decision-maker across the entire IT environment.
The Role
As Head of IT, you’ll own the global corporate IT strategy and operations, ensuring the function is aligned with business priorities, growth plans and cost-efficiency targets.
You’ll lead a team of four, including a Director of IT, Systems Engineer and two IT Systems Engineers/Administrators, while using outsourced or managed services where they provide additional value, coverage or efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the global corporate IT function, including infrastructure, systems, endpoints and service delivery.
- Define and deliver an IT roadmap aligned with business objectives, growth and efficiency targets.
- Lead, develop and scale the IT team while retaining accountability for strategy, budget and outcomes.
- Own IT budgets, vendor relationships, contract negotiations and cost optimisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and deliver measurable cost savings.
- Oversee the administration and governance of Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Slack.
- Own endpoint and MDM strategy across Mac and Windows environments.
- Oversee platforms including Zoom, Google Meet, Jira, Confluence and meeting-room technology.
- Own identity and access management, including SSO, MFA and user lifecycle management.
- Manage and oversee network architecture, including VLANs, routing, DNS/DHCP, Wi-Fi and Cisco Meraki or equivalent technologies.
- Oversee firewall policies and office infrastructure in partnership with Information Security.
- Establish robust onboarding, offboarding and device lifecycle processes across a distributed international workforce.
- Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure IT supports wider business objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Strong hands-on experience administering Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 at enterprise scale, alongside Slack.
- Experience with Okta, Entra ID (Azure AD) or equivalent SSO/IdP platforms.
