Head of IT – Manchester

Our client, a UK-based group, is seeking an experienced Head of IT and Digital Services to lead end-to-end IT operations, technology strategy, and digital transformation across the organisation and its subsidiaries.

This is a strategic and operational leadership role, responsible for delivering secure, reliable IT services while driving technology modernisation across infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity, and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the group-wide IT and digital services strategy, governance, and technology roadmap
  • Lead IT service delivery across service desk, field support, infrastructure, and business systems
  • Drive the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing development of Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Own and enhance the organisation’s management system
  • Strengthen cybersecurity, data protection, compliance, and risk management
  • Identify and embed AI technologies, including AI agents, safely and pragmatically to improve business outcomes
  • Manage IT budgets, suppliers, contracts, and technology investments to deliver value for money
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-disciplinary IT team
  • Ensure technology services continue to evolve in line with business objectives and organisational growth

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior leadership experience with responsibility for IT and digital services across multi-site organisations
  • Strong service delivery expertise and ITIL-aligned operational management
  • Proven cybersecurity leadership within regulated or sensitive environments
  • Successful delivery of major IT systems, platforms, and transformation programmes
  • Experience managing budgets, third-party suppliers, contracts, and technical teams
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud technologies, and modern workplace security
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise business systems
  • Experience within healthcare or another regulated environment is desirable
  • A strategic, commercially minded approach combined with the ability to remain hands-on when required
