Senior IT Leader
Permanent | Confidential Search
I’m working on a confidential permanent search for an experienced IT leader to take on a broad technology leadership role within an organisation.
The opportunity combines responsibility for technology services with the scope to influence their longer-term direction. It would suit someone who enjoys developing teams and turning modernisation plans into practical improvements.
The Technical Remit Covers:
- Zero Trust Architecture: Shaping secure access across identity, devices and networks, and guiding implementation.
- Networking: Enterprise connectivity, network security, segmentation and resilience.
- Telephony: Enterprise voice, unified communications and contact centre services, including modernisation and service continuity.
- Infrastructure: Cloud and hybrid environments, hosting, backup, disaster recovery and lifecycle management.
- Cyber: Technology risk, security controls, incident readiness and supplier assurance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Alongside this, you’ll lead technology teams, develop managers and improve service performance. You’ll manage budgets and supplier relationships, working with senior stakeholders to agree priorities and make informed investment decisions.
I’m interested in established IT leaders and experienced heads of function ready for broader responsibility. Relevant backgrounds could include IT leadership, infrastructure, technology operations or technical services, including assistant and associate director roles.

You should bring substantial people leadership experience and a track record of delivering change while keeping critical services running. Strong understanding of zero trust architecture and cyber risk is important, with practical implementation experience particularly relevant.
