Head of TechOps Delivery
£85,000 - £100,000 + Bonus
Hybrid | Manchester (2 Days per Week)
We are seeking an experienced Head of TechOps Delivery to lead a portfolio of technology operations programmes covering infrastructure, networks, data centres, platform services and ITSM for a leading gambling/gaming client that we are currently working with.
This role is suited to a senior delivery leader who has progressed from project to programme and portfolio management, and is comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of TechOps projects and programmes.
- Manage governance, planning, dependencies, risks and delivery performance.
- Drive both Agile and waterfall delivery practices, using metrics such as cycle time, throughput and WIP.
- Lead programme recovery activities and resolve complex delivery challenges.
- Build strong relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Maintain portfolio visibility through JIRA and Confluence.
- Mentor and develop project and programme managers.
- Ensure operational readiness and service continuity are embedded throughout delivery.

About You
- Experience leading technology operations, infrastructure or enterprise technology change programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Data Centre, Network, ITSM and ITIL environments.
- Demonstrated ability to recover challenged programmes and manage senior stakeholder expectations.
- Experience managing portfolios, dependencies and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of Agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Confident influencing and challenging stakeholders at executive level.
- Experience coaching and mentoring delivery professionals.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven experience leading large-scale Infrastructure, Technology Operations (TechOps) or Technical Delivery programmes.
- Strong background across Infrastructure, Networks, Platforms, Databases, Service Management and SRE environments.
- Experience managing complex portfolios, programme roadmaps, dependencies and resource planning.
- Demonstrable success delivering business-critical infrastructure and transformation projects within enterprise-scale environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge and influence senior technical leaders.
- Experience implementing governance, change control, risk management and delivery reporting frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience within a 24/7, highly regulated or mission-critical environment is advantageous.
