About The Role

The Head of Infrastructure Engineering & Operations, based in London, will lead technical ownership of a business-critical enterprise network and Nutanix environment. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary up to £90,000, plus a bonus and health scheme. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic leadership, requiring expertise in architecture, troubleshooting, and resilience across a large, distributed estate. This hybrid role suits a senior engineer seeking to shape infrastructure performance and mentor technical teams while maintaining deep involvement in complex problem-solving.

Senior Network & Infrastructure Lead Engineer

Location: Hybrid, South London

Job Type: Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Network & Infrastructure Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of a business-critical enterprise network and Nutanix infrastructure environment.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving infrastructure and taking ownership of how technology performs across a large and distributed estate.

You’ll be the technical authority for enterprise networking and Nutanix infrastructure, working across architecture, engineering, troubleshooting, resilience, and continuous improvement.

You’ll also work closely with technology partners, vendors, and managed service providers, providing technical challenge and ensuring services are delivered to a high standard.

This isn't a general infrastructure management role. We’re looking for someone who remains close to the technology, leads by example, and enjoys getting into the detail when required.

What You'll Be Doing

Network Engineering

  • Take technical ownership of enterprise network services across LAN, WAN, wireless, and remote connectivity.
  • Design, implement, and support resilient network solutions across a large multi-site environment.
  • Work with routing and switching technologies including OSPF and BGP.
  • Support SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex network and connectivity issues.
  • Support branch, office, warehouse, data centre, and remote-site connectivity.
  • Improve network monitoring, alerting, visibility, and capacity management.
  • Lead network lifecycle, refresh, and modernisation initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis following major incidents and recurring faults.
  • Review technical designs, network changes, and implementation plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
