Head of Infrastructure | UK Challenger Bank | Six-Month Contract

We are supporting a UK challenger bank in appointing an experienced Head of Infrastructure for an initial six-month contract.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned infrastructure professional who can set direction while remaining close to delivery. You will take ownership of the bank’s infrastructure environment, covering networks, cloud, desktop and end-user services, and Microsoft 365.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the bank’s infrastructure function
  • Take hands-on ownership of critical infrastructure priorities and issues
  • Manage network, cloud, desktop and Microsoft 365 services
  • Provide strong oversight of third-party technology partners
  • Hold vendors accountable for delivery, service quality and commercial performance
  • Ensure infrastructure services are secure, resilient and appropriate for a regulated banking environment
  • Work closely with the CTO and wider technology leadership team

We Are Looking For:

  • A seasoned infrastructure leader with strong technical depth
  • Broad experience across networks, cloud platforms, desktop services and Microsoft 365
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach and willingness to get stuck in
  • Strong vendor and outsourced service-management experience
  • Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated environment
  • The credibility to operate at leadership level while remaining hands-on

You must have depth of experience working in banking across the last ten years. Candidates without recent banking/fintech experience will not be considered.

Contract Details:

  • Initial six-month contract
  • £600–£800 per day depending on experience
  • Outside IR35
  • Predominantly remote
  • Applicants must be based in the UK
  • Monthly travel to London for a team day
