Head of Institutional Relations / Partner- Private Equity • Institutional Capital • London

A London-headquartered institutional private equity firm is looking to collaborate with an experienced institutional fundraising professional to build and lead its LP relations and capital raising capability across pension funds, sovereign wealth, endowments, fund-of-funds and other institutional allocators.

The firm is built around a senior, founder-led team with a clear investment thesis and institutional governance. This opportunity is designed for an established institutional capital formation leader who wants genuine ownership of the function — shaping strategy, building the allocator franchise and participating meaningfully in the economics of the platform’s growth.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The successful individual would join in a senior capacity with full ownership of the firm’s institutional fundraising strategy, with scope to:

  • Design and execute the institutional investor coverage model across pension funds, sovereign wealth entities, endowments and fund-of-funds.
  • Build and cultivate long-term relationships with institutional allocators and their investment teams.
  • Lead investor roadshows, LP meetings and strategic engagement throughout the fundraising cycle.
  • Articulate the firm’s investment strategy, track record and value proposition to institutional audiences.
  • Partner with the investment team to develop fund documentation, investor materials and performance reporting.
  • Shape fundraising strategy and product positioning in response to market dynamics and institutional investor sentiment.
  • Participate meaningfully in the economics of capital raised, including performance bonus, GP carry and equity participation as appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

EXPERIENCE

We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Substantial institutional fundraising experience at a senior level — Head of Institutional Sales, Head of LP Relations, Head of Distribution, Managing Director or Partner equivalent.
  • A proven, attributable track record of raising capital from institutional allocators.
  • Deep, active relationships across pension funds, sovereign wealth entities, endowments and fund-of-funds capable of generating meaningful commitments.
  • Personal involvement in building, scaling or leading an institutional fundraising function — not solely inheriting one.
  • Strong technical fluency with alternative investment structures, private fund vehicles and regulatory frameworks.
  • Executive-level communication skills and the ability to present complex strategies to the most sophisticated institutional audiences.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to build a franchise with real economic participation.

Minimum 15 years in institutional capital formation, with at least 5 years at a senior leadership level. Prior experience at a PE firm, hedge fund, placement agent, fund-of-funds or alternative asset manager.

Appreciation of DeepTech and AI investment themes is advantageous but not essential — firm-supported learning is available.

This could suit someone leading institutional sales or LP relations at an established fund who wants more strategic influence and economics, a senior placement agent professional considering a principal-side role, or a Head of Capital Development looking for a platform where the path to partnership is clearly defined.

Expressions of interest will be treated confidentially.
