About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Intelligence to lead, develop, and grow Prevail's Intelligence capability across UK government, international, and commercial clients. This senior leadership role is accountable for the direction, standards, governance, and performance of the Intelligence function, which comprises multiple intelligence teams covering a broad range of geographies and client requirements, with approximately 20 to 30 intelligence analysts.
The role leads across all Prevail's intelligence programs, including intelligence embedded within wider operational protective security. The Head of Intelligence will not manage day-to-day tasking; instead, they will lead and support those who do, ensuring tradecraft, analytical standards, and performance expectations are aligned to client requirements and to Prevail's commitment to Unrelenting Excellence.
This role will suit someone who built their intelligence career in UK government, defence, or policing and has since established themselves in commercial intelligence delivery. Based in our London office, the role works closely with colleagues across Operations, Commercial, Finance, People, Legal, and Protective Security. Success will be measured through the quality of our intelligence outputs, client satisfaction, business growth, the development and retention of our analysts, and the ongoing development of our technical capabilities, including the introduction of new capabilities and enhancement of existing technologies, tools, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and deliver the direction for Prevail's Intelligence capability, and act as its senior accountable leader.
- Establish and maintain the analytical standards, tradecraft, quality assurance, and governance that underpin everything the function produces.
- Lead, support, and develop intelligence delivery leads and senior analytical staff across multiple teams.
- Maintain oversight of all intelligence contracts and programs, monitoring performance, client satisfaction, and delivery risk.
- Ensure intelligence embedded within wider operational and protective security is properly resourced and held to the same standards.
- Lead workforce and succession planning, with clear development pathways for analysts at every level.
- Own the development of intelligence tooling and technical capability, including the introduction of new capabilities and enhancements of existing technologies, tools, and processes.
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities, building senior relationships, and leading bids, proposals, and client engagements across government, international, and commercial markets.
- Support the management of complex operational issues, incidents, escalations, and client concerns.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities deemed appropriate by the Director of Intelligence and Security, in line with the requirements of the role and the needs of the business.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Significant senior intelligence experience gained in UK government, military, or policing intelligence.
- Substantial experience delivering intelligence commercially, in a consultancy, managed service, and comparable private sector environment.
- Proven experience building, leading, and scaling an intelligence capability, including accountability for analytical standards and quality.
- Deep working knowledge of the intelligence cycle, collection, and requirements management, and structured analytical techniques.
- Strong understanding of open-source intelligence and data-led analysis, and the tooling and tradecraft behind them.
- Strong understanding of appropriate legal and compliance frameworks applicable: RIPA; UK GDPR; Data Protection Act considerations, etc.
- Demonstrable success in business development, client acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Experience leading senior teams and influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Experience overseeing complex programs or client portfolios in demanding, high-tempo environments.
- Eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance, which Prevail will sponsor. You will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least five years.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and internationally as required.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with UK Defence Intelligence standards and the National Intelligence Model, and experience applying them in the context of a multi-customer environment.
- Experience gained within a recognized specialist military, intelligence, law enforcement, or government security organization.
- Experience with UK government intelligence contracts, including competitive tendering and mobilization.
- Experience with specialist OSINT platforms, data fusion, link analysis, or geospatial tooling.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled research and analytical tools, and how to adopt them responsibly in delivery.
- Experience developing analysts from entry level through to senior practitioner.
- An established professional network within the intelligence, security, defence, or government sectors.
- Working knowledge of the CPIA framework and intelligence analysis principles.
- Current or previously held SC or DV clearance.
