Job Title: Head of Internal Audit

Entity: Aventum Group

Department: Internal Audit

Location: London/Hybrid (3 days in the office)

This isn’t a job description. It’s your invitation.

At Aventum, we don’t hire to fill seats. We bring people in to build something real.

We want people to join us (that person might be you) on our mission to be the world’s most inspiring insurance group, not by playing it safe but by delivering the unexpected and creating meaningful impact. That means backing ideas early, trusting people to own their work and giving them the space to grow faster than they thought possible.

Some people join us knowing exactly where they want to go. Others figure it out once they’re here. Both work here - the question is, will you?

What You’ll Take On

Internal Audit at Aventum is not about ticking boxes. It is about helping the business grow with confidence by providing independent assurance across governance, risk and controls. This is an opportunity to build, shape and continually evolve the Internal Audit function, partnering closely with the Board and Audit Committee while influencing how a fast-moving international insurance group manages risk and delivers its ambitions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Shape and lead a risk-based Internal Audit function that keeps pace with the Group’s growth, complexity and evolving risk profile.
  • Turn assurance insight into stronger governance, helping senior leaders make better decisions and strengthen controls across the business.
  • Own the relationship with the Group’s co-sourced audit partner, ensuring high-quality delivery that focuses on the risks that matter most.
  • Provide a clear, independent challenge to Executive Leadership, the Board, and the Audit Committee, helping to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify emerging risks, systemic issues and opportunities for control enhancement before they become barriers to performance.

What it’s Like to Work Here

Expect high standards and the support to meet them. Expect autonomy (not micromanagement) and the chance to collaborate across teams, brands and borders. Here, your ideas are taken seriously, wherever you sit in the business.

We invest when the right tools don’t exist. We listen when our people say something can be better. And when we win, we make sure the people building the business win too. This is a place where performance matters - but so does enjoyment, curiosity and doing work you are proud of.

Who Thrives at Aventum Group?

We don’t expect you to tick every box. Experience helps, but curiosity matters more. If you are willing to learn, take ownership and ask questions when you don’t know the answer, you’re already off to a great start. We look for people who are:

  • Highly organised, proactive, analytical, and collaborative, with strong Microsoft Office skills (including Excel) and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Confident in communicating with others and working together.
  • A mindset focused on learning, improvement and follow-through.
  • An interest in how things work (and how they could be improved).

Why Apply

Because you want more than a job title. Because you want to grow, not wait your turn. Because you want to be trusted to do good work (and get recognised when you do it). And because you want to help build something inspiring, unexpected and meaningful.

So… challenge accepted?
