Head of International Compliance | Reinsurance | London
IDEX Consulting are recruiting for a Head of International Compliance with a specialist reinsurance business in the London market.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced reinsurance compliance professional to take ownership of the international compliance agenda across the business. The role sits within a small, high-calibre team and reports directly into the International Chief Risk Officer, working closely with the CEO of Reinsurance and maintaining regular interaction with the US Legal & Compliance team.
The successful candidate will have significant ownership of the compliance framework across the international reinsurance operations, acting as a senior point of contact for regulatory, governance and compliance matters and providing trusted advice to senior leadership.
What the role covers:
- Leading the international compliance framework, including policies, procedures and the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
- Acting as a senior compliance adviser to the CEO of Reinsurance and wider international leadership team
- FCA regulatory reporting end-to-end, including oversight, internal review and approval
- Managing licensing, permissions and regulatory renewals across operating entities
- Oversight of broker TOBA management and annual broker due diligence/checks
- Managing and overseeing the outsourced compliance provider
- Coordinating internal audits, external control testing and remediation activity
- Providing compliance input into governance, Board and committee activity, including reporting and issue management
- Leading compliance training and maintaining a strong compliance culture across the international business
- Supporting the reinsurance entity and European branch/operations from a regulatory and compliance perspective
- Working closely with the US Legal & Compliance team to ensure appropriate alignment across international and US regulatory requirements
- Providing senior-level oversight of regulatory developments and their impact on the international reinsurance business

- Significant compliance experience within an insurer or reinsurer, ideally within the London market
- Strong, hands-on experience with FCA regulatory reporting and regulatory engagement
- Experience operating at a senior level and comfortable acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders
- A broad understanding of compliance, governance and regulatory requirements across an international insurance/reinsurance environment
- Experience with European entities, branches or international operations would be highly beneficial
- Someone who combines strategic oversight with the ability to get into the detail when required
