About Marc Jacobs
Born in New York City in April 1963, Marc Jacobs attended the High School of Art & Design and graduated from Parsons School of Design, where he received some of the school’s highest honors, including Design Student of the Year. Founded in 1984, the Marc Jacobs label has since grown into a powerhouse global brand.
Objective of the Role
The Head of International Marketing will lead the marketing strategy and execution to drive brand equity, amplify seasonal key stories worldwide, and partner closely with key regional markets and wholesale partners. This senior leadership role reports to the Global Managing Director while working hand-in-hand with global sales leadership to regionalise and scale marketing initiatives that support international business development. The role also requires close collaboration with the New York corporate marketing team to align global brand vision with local market execution.
We are looking for an inspiring, visionary leader with high creativity, dynamism, and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing complex matrix organisations, motivating cross-functional and regional teams, and translating brand storytelling into measurable global growth.
Main Responsibilities
GLOBAL STRATEGY & MARKETING
- Develop and execute a fully integrated global marketing and media strategy across international markets, scaling Marc Jacobs' seasonal narratives.
- Drive brand elevation and desirability through customised, high-impact global marketing activations, focusing on key brand stories and digital-first communication.
- Align all global marketing plans with approved budgets, continuously tracking expenditures and optimising return on investment.

WHOLESALE & 360° PARTNERSHIPS
- Collaborate with HQ to develop comprehensive toolkits and materials for presenting Marc Jacobs collections to global wholesale partners 4 times a year during sales campaigns.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with key international wholesale clients to elevate brand image, increase brand awareness, and accelerate commercial growth.
- Lead key account sales meetings globally, presenting tailored marketing activation plans to maximise in-store and digital brand visibility.
COMMUNICATION & DIGITAL ACTIVATION
- Propose and implement integrated communication channel strategies across international regions, including CRM, newsletters, digital communication tools, and operational marketing.
- Define and execute the global Social & Digital activation plan to maximise online brand visibility and community engagement.
- Secure high-impact brand visibility for key stories via strategic media and influencer partnerships across key international markets.
EVENTS, POP-UPS & RETAIL ACTIVATION
- Define, arbitrate, and validate global event and pop-up strategies in partnership with the commercial teams to generate maximum brand buzz and revenue.
- Ensure robust digital, PR, and social media presence for all experiential and pop-up activities.

BUDGET & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Oversee global marketing expenses and manage invoice processes in strict alignment with budgetary commitments.
- Ensure the total annual marketing budget meets financial targets, delivering regular updates and financial forecasts to executive management and finance teams.
Main Selection Criteria
- Extensive senior-level experience in 360° marketing, communications, and trade marketing within the fashion or luxury sector.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale international brand marketing projects from conception through to execution.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in an additional global language is a strong asset.
- Highly collaborative, communicative executive capable of bridging the gap between regional teams, wholesale partners, and corporate HQ.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder and agency/supplier management.
- Strong command of business analytics and data-driven marketing planning.
- Deep understanding of the global digital and social media landscape, influencer marketing, and how to leverage digital ecosystems to drive brand value.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to prioritize and drive multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication expertise with an established international network.
