Head of Investor Relations & Corporate Finance | Scale-Up | London | Hybrid
The Opportunity
We are exclusively supporting a high-growth European deep tech scale-up operating at the forefront of advanced automation.
With further capital raises expected as the business scales, the organisation is looking to strengthen its senior finance capability with the appointment of a Head of Investor Relations & Corporate Finance.
Reporting directly into the senior leadership team, this is a highly strategic and visible position combining investor relations, corporate finance, fundraising and strategic analysis.
The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping how the business engages with the investment community, preparing for future financing events and providing senior leadership with insight into the evolving capital markets.
This is an opportunity for an individual who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, investment, strategy and high-growth technology and wants genuine ownership within a rapidly scaling business.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management
- Take ownership of the company's ongoing investor relations strategy and develop strong relationships with existing and prospective institutional investors.
- Act as a key point of contact for the investment community, ensuring communications are consistent, commercially focused and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
- Develop regular investor communications, including updates, presentations and supporting analysis.
- Work closely with the CFO and executive team to prepare for investor meetings, roadshows, presentations and other external engagements.
- Help establish a clear and compelling equity story, translating complex technology, commercial performance and financial information into an investor-friendly narrative.
Corporate Finance & Capital Strategy
- Support the CFO in developing and executing the company's longer-term funding and capital strategy.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of future equity fundraising processes, from initial investor mapping through to due diligence and completion.
- Evaluate potential sources of capital, including venture capital, growth investors, strategic investors and other institutional funding partners.
- Assist with assessing optimal funding requirements, timing, valuation considerations and investor composition.
- Provide analysis around capital structure, dilution, valuation and funding scenarios to support senior decision-making.
- Work alongside finance, treasury and legal stakeholders on transaction execution and associated documentation.

Fundraising & Transaction Execution
- Build and maintain a pipeline of relevant investors well in advance of formal fundraising activity.
- Coordinate investor engagement and manage the flow of information throughout financing processes.
- Own the preparation of high-quality fundraising materials, financial information and supporting analysis.
- Coordinate cross-functional responses to investor due diligence requests, ensuring information is accurate, consistent and delivered efficiently.
- Maintain an organised and continuously updated investor data room, ensuring the business remains transaction-ready.
- Support the CFO and founders during negotiations and financing discussions where required.
Strategic & Market Analysis
- Monitor the investment landscape across AI, robotics, deep tech and adjacent technology sectors.
- Track comparable businesses, recent transactions, funding rounds, valuations and investor appetite.
- Provide the CFO and wider leadership team with insight into market trends and their potential impact on the company's funding strategy.
- Develop benchmarking and valuation analysis to support corporate finance and strategic decisions.
- Identify potential strategic investors, commercial partnerships and alternative financing opportunities.
- Work across finance and strategy projects where corporate finance expertise can support the wider growth agenda.

Required Skills & Experience for this role include:
Essential
- Significant experience within investor relations, corporate finance, investment banking, venture capital, growth equity or a similar environment.
- Demonstrable exposure to fundraising, M&A, capital markets or other significant corporate finance transactions.
- Strong understanding of venture and growth investment, including valuation, equity structures, dilution, funding rounds and transaction processes.
- Experience producing sophisticated investor-facing materials and translating financial and operational information into a compelling investment case.
- Excellent financial and analytical capability, with the ability to assess complex information and communicate clear conclusions to senior stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage directly with institutional investors, shareholders, founders and C-suite executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of commercial awareness.
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve quickly and there is significant scope to take ownership.
Desirable
- Previous experience within deep tech, advanced manufacturing, hardware or another technology-led, capital-intensive business.
- Experience supporting multiple funding rounds within a high-growth company.
- Background working on later-stage venture, growth equity, pre-IPO or IPO-related activity.
- Experience within a leading VC, growth equity fund or investment banking environment.
- Exposure to international investors and multi-jurisdictional financing.
- Experience with investor reporting, cap table management and relevant IR / fundraising platforms.
- Relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline. CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or MBA would be advantageous but is not essential.
