The Opportunity
Finatal are working with a specialist lower mid-market private credit investment firm looking to appoint an experienced Head of Investor Relations / Investor Relations Director as it prepares to return to market for their next fund.
The firm operates with a small, highly experienced investment team and is looking for a proven private markets fundraiser to take ownership of fundraising and investor relationships on a flexible 2–3 day-a-week basis.
The mandate is primarily focused on capital raising, with the successful individual expected to leverage and expand their LP network, originate new investor relationships and lead engagement throughout the fundraising process. They will also take responsibility for the firm's broader investor relations activity, working closely with the investment team on positioning, materials and communications.
This is an attractive opportunity for an established fundraiser looking to retain a senior, commercially meaningful role with genuine ownership, while benefiting from significantly greater flexibility than a traditional full-time IR position.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why This Opportunity?
This is an unusual opportunity to combine a senior fundraising mandate with genuine flexibility. The successful individual will have significant ownership of an important fundraising cycle, working directly alongside an experienced investment team and having a tangible impact on the firm's continued development.
The 2–3 day-a-week structure should be particularly attractive to an established fundraiser looking to move away from a traditional five-day position without stepping away from the private markets industry.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
